About
Conkie's Tavern  was built in 1758 by William Conkey in Pelham Hollow. 
It was here, in 1786-87, Capt. Daniel Shays and his fellow Pelham citizens met to consider issues culminating in Shays' Rebellion. 
The location of the tavern is now submerged under the Quabbin Resevoir
After William Conkey's death in 1788, his son, William Conkey , Jr. took over.
The tavern went out of business when William Conkey, Jr. died in 1841.

Most of the contents of the tavern were sold to the American Museum in Bath, England.
